EcoVadis Award 2019
There are many buzzwords that companies can use today to present themselves in the best light. But can companies also be judged by their actions in this respect? Is it verifiable that they not only talk, but also act?
EcoVadis provides companies with holistic corporate social responsibility (CSR) ratings through a global cloud-based SaaS platform.
Consor AG has registered for this rating and is delighted to have been awarded the silver medal for 2019.
What is EcoVadis?
The EcoVadis rating covers a wide range of non-financial management systems, including the impact of the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. Each company is assessed against the issues relevant to its size, location and industry.
These evidence-based assessments are translated into easy-to-read scorecards with scores ranging from zero to one hundred (0-100) and medals (bronze, silver and gold). In addition, the scorecards identify the strengths and areas of improvement that can be used by the rated companies to better target their sustainability efforts and create corrective action plans to improve their CSR performance.
Large multinational companies are working with EcoVadis to improve the sustainability of their global supply chain. They use the impact of spending as a “positive force” to help their business partners achieve results that go beyond compliance. The rated company can see how its company compares to the industry. Combining scorecard results with improvement areas leads to a “race to the top” in which entire industries compete to achieve global best practices.
Through Enterprise membership and related services, EcoVadis provides an outsourced sustainability management platform that helps large organizations evaluate their business partners, manage their business partners’ performance, and drive continuous improvement.
Procurement companies can easily incorporate EcoVadis scorecards into their day-to-day business practices (such as supplier registration, compliance, procurement, supplier performance and relationship management) and make more sustainable procurement decisions within their organizations. At the same time, it creates positive incentives for business partners to align themselves with procurement companies’ sustainability practices.
EcoVadis has already assessed over 45,000 business partners around the world. In this way, the risks of some of the world’s largest companies have been mitigated while making a positive contribution to the environment, promoting transparency and driving innovation.
